MCHS Cheer Hosts Youth Camp for Kids Pre-K Through 8th Grade July 31

If you have a kid who can’t stop tumbling off the couch, or one already dreaming of Friday nights on the sideline, the MCHS cheer program has a place to put that energy. The team hosts a youth camp Thursday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Marengo Community High School, open to kids from pre-K through 8th grade. The day covers cheer, dance, stunting, tumbling, and jumps, and the $50 cost includes a camp t-shirt and bow. Profits go directly back to the cheer program and its cheerleaders.

For head coach Megan, in her first year leading the Marengo program, the camp is about more than fundraising. She lives in Marengo and is raising three kids here, and she told Marengo Weekly she wants to inspire a love of cheer in the next generation while giving her cheerleaders the chance to be role models for younger kids in the community.

Registration closes Thursday, July 24, at schools.snap.app/marengo. Campers should bring water, athletic shoes, and a lunch. Questions can go to Coach Megan at costam@mchs154.org.
