Marengo Makers Market Returns This Friday, With a Food Truck, Face Painting, and Rescue Dogs

The Marengo Makers Market is back at Calvin Spencer Park this Friday, June 26, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., and this month's market is shaping up to be one of the busiest yet.

The monthly market gathers crafters, farmers, and local vendors at the park at 351 Hale St., just across from the Catholic church. The June lineup runs more than 40 booths, with everything from fresh cut flowers and sourdough bread to handmade jewelry, candles, live plants, freeze-dried candy, and tarot readings.

When we reached out to Chris, who coordinates the market with Eva, she shared some good news about how far the market has come. "To the best of my knowledge, we have never outgrown the path, so that is exciting," she said.

What's New This Month

A food truck joins the market for the first time, with Taqueria Paloma serving tacos, tortas, burritos, and other Mexican street food. Face painting is back, with most designs $10 and under, set up at the last booth on the right along the path toward the church. And Joy In Motion will keep the kids moving with a dance party through the evening.

Adoption Event and Supply Drive

The market is also hosting an adoption event and supply drive with Glory Bound Rescue Ranch from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The rescue will be on-site with a few animal ambassadors and is collecting donations, including blankets, towels, cleaning supplies, dog food, and cash, to help support the animals in its care.
