Many restaurant grease traps have gone without the annual inspections the city code requires, Public Works told the council after grease clogged a sewer line and backed sewage into a home. The council also accepted a clean audit and closed out two sewer contracts, one of which finished 37% over its award.

The Marengo Park District board voted to move its IT contract to a top-tier plan costing about six times what it approved in July, after the interim director flagged the district's 14 and a half year old server. Commissioners also heard that the annual audit is on a 60 day extension and that the auditors are still waiting on a signed copy of the 2024 tax levy.
